Louise is a quilter living on the Mid North Coast of NSW. In recent years Louise has been expanding her quilting horizons into new areas of textile art using improvisational piecing, eco-dying and non-traditional techniques and fabrics.

These photos show Louise’s work from FAN’s curernt exhibition at the Glasshouse, Port Macquarie – Looking Back – Moving Forward – bringing the past with us. “This theme encouraged me to look more deeply at the lives of the many women who made up my family and at the history of domestic handcrafts in the Australian colonies.”

Louise is inspired by the colours and forms of the world around her – both close to home and on her travels around Australia and overseas.
