FAN member Vivienne Crisell was selected as one of the ten finalists in the art and pictorial section for the 2026 Australian Quilt Convention. This is a juried competition for quilt makers all over Australia. Following the Convention in Melbourne, the quilts then tour Australia for the remainder of the year.
Vivienne’s work is titled “River Delta Triptych”
It is inspired by aerial views of river deltas and the changing of colours.
The three panels are- Sand and Shallows, Red Ochre Drifts and Midnight Shale.
The pieces are constructed from commercial and hand dyed cottons and wool wadding. The design features reverse applique blocks, Free machine embroidered lace inserts and free machine quilting in various weight threads.
