Vana considers herself to be an emerging textile and bead artist, taking the time as a retired primary school principal, to follow her dreams. Her art is her story. Vana is about connecting cultures and thus is a lifelong learner of traditional arts, particularly influenced by Indian, Indonesian and Japanese textile arts and the story art of Australia’s First Nation people. Natural fibres, particularly silk, are her passion.
